The late great Dick Gregory came through to the “Ed Lover Show,” and he talked with Ed Lover about a little bit of everything. He shared his thoughts on Bill Cosby, and why there is a target on his back as of late; “I think there’s been a deal cut.” He says, “you know when I understood white folks, it was a tragedy,” recalling how the first time he saw Bugs Bunny, that made him buy a rabbit, and become very disappointed as a result.

Dick talked about the gall of Nina Simone and her “Mississippi Goddamn,” as well as Billie Holiday‘s “Strange Fruit,” and the way they called out the system long before it was acceptable to in any form. He talks about his loyalty to black folks, especially with laws in place that prevented black comedians from performing in white clubs.
