At this year’s ESPY awards, the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance went to Jarrius Robertson, the 14-year-old NBA fan who is battling chronic liver disease. He’s gone through more surgeries at such a young age than most folks will experience in a lifetime, but he continues to inspire with an upbeat attitude and sense of humor. Earlier this year, he stole that show at All-Star weekend when he got onto the court during a game and scored a basket.
