In 2000, the R&B group Ideal released “Whatever,” which they didn’t know would be a hit song, and would take their album further. R.L. from the R&B group NEXT actually penned the song for NEXT at first, but they weren’t feeling it. So he passed it along to Ideal, and they recorded it and put it on their album instead.
